Distributed Checksum Clearinghouse |
|
On March 31, 2005 Commtouch and DCC (Distributed Checksum Clearinghouse). announced a licensing program giving Commtouch exclusive rights to market DCC technology. Implemented by multiple anti-spam vendors, security vendors and managed service providers (MSPs), DCC is the world's most widespread open-source anti-spam software. It protects millions of users and tens of thousands of clients.

Based on information sharing, the DCC (Distributed Checksum Clearinghouse) system has 250 servers that collect checksums related to more than 180 million messages per day. DCC clients filter spam by using data from the distributed database maintained by the servers. In turn, DCC servers are informed automatically by DCC (Distributed Checksum Clearinghouse) clients about current spam.
