Commtouch: Positive Momentum Continues with Q2 Business Accomplishments

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif.-- July 5, 2006 -- Commtouch® (Nasdaq: CTCH), the leader in real time anti-spam and Zero-Hour™ virus protection technology, announced today the continuation of its positive business accomplishments throughout the second quarter of 2006.

Accomplishments during Q2 include:

  • Commtouch signed 7 new OEM licensing agreements. With the additional agreements, Commtouch serves over 40 OEM partners worldwide. Integration of Commtouch's technologies is expected to occur within several months on average, with sales of the Commtouch-enabled products to follow. The company will provide additional information regarding these deals as it becomes publicly available.
  • Commtouch released its “Image Spam Defense,” which blocks spam messages containing only images. These email messages bypass many traditional anti-spam filters because they contain no text; however Commtouch’s content- and language-independent RPD™ technology identifies these messages and prevents them from reaching their targets.
  • Commtouch added three new management members, a CFO, Ron Ela, a vice president for business development in North America, Jay Goldin, and a senior director of marketing, Rebecca Herson.

"I am very pleased that Ron, Jay and Rebecca have joined our team. Each brings important skills that will contribute to our future growth," stated Gideon Mantel, CEO of the Company. "As the new CFO, Ron is filling a key leadership position in which, among other things, he will manage the current finance team, and will have direct responsibility for investor relations. VP Finance Devyani Patel has done a superb job managing the finance department until now, and she will now be reporting to Ron. Jay will lead the North American business development activities and will focus on strategic accounts. Rebecca will work on leveraging Commtouch’s growing customer base - helping our loyal customers get the most from the Commtouch technology while concurrently increasing Commtouch’s brand recognition."

“The first half of 2006 was very good to us,” Mantel continued. “We have become a clear leader in our space, with greater financial stability and with a promising product road map to leverage on our latest customers wins.”
