Commtouch Appoints Ronen Rosenblatt Vice President of Research and Development

Sunnyvale, Calif., April 1, 2009 – Commtouch® (NASDAQ: CTCH) today announced the appointment of Ronen Rosenblatt to the position of vice president of research and development.

“With two product lines, over 100 OEM customers and many more in the evaluation process, and with additional initiatives underway, we looked for a leader for our R&D team who is a cut above,” said Gideon Mantel, Commtouch chief executive officer and chairman of the board. “Ronen’s wide range of experience and leadership skills should greatly benefit our short- and long-term growth plans. The fact that Ronen was part of Commtouch’s leadership team in the past has allowed him to hit the ground running and add immediate value.”

For the past 18 years, Mr. Rosenblatt has held executive positions in the Israeli hi-tech industry ranging from start–ups to publicly traded companies, most recently as vice president of research and development at NiceVision, a division of Nice Systems that provides smart video solutions to security markets. At NiceVision, he oversaw global research and development activities and managed an interdisciplinary research and development organization with more than 100 engineers in Israel, Europe and the United States.

“I am grateful to have had the opportunity to participate in the management of some of the industry's major companies,” said Mr. Rosenblatt. “I’m happy to be back at Commtouch and am ready to contribute to the company’s growth, success and technological leadership in the Internet security market.”

Previously, Mr. Rosenblatt served in technology and business executive roles in several startup companies, including Xacct, a provider of industry-leading mediation software for telecom service providers that was acquired by Amdocs, Savantis, and Gigaspaces. During Commtouch’s early years, he served as its VP of research and development until 2000. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Tel Aviv University and an Executive MBA from the Recanati School of Business.
