Mobile Internet Security

Overview

Mobile devices are becoming increasingly powerful and are supplementing or even replacing PCs for email retrieval and Web browsing.  Mobile users are therefore exposed to many existing Internet threats as well as threats tailored to mobile devices.

Commtouch messaging security, Web security and Command Antivirus services can be found in the mail and content gateways of leading service providers around the globe, as well as the security and networking devices of top vendors.  Within these platforms, Commtouch provides protection for millions of mobile users worldwide.  More information is available:

Commtouch’s GlobalView URL Filtering for mobile supports environments with a Java Virtual Machine such as Android.  GlobalView URL Filtering for mobile enables development of mobile applications that provide Web security, parental control, and enterprise compliance.  Commtouch’s cloud-based architecture results in a thin client that is ideally suited to the limited resources of mobile devices.  More information is available here.

How it works

Commtouch services leverage the cloud-based GlobalView Network which includes five carrier-grade data centers and multiple worldwide traffic collection nodes that gather and analyze billions of Internet transactions daily.

Commtouch technology can be easily integrated into mobile gateways and
security appliances where a local cache provides fast spam and malware classifications as well as URL categorizations.  Integration options include comprehensive SDKs, daemons, and a range of plugins and milters.

The Commtouch Engine is designed for high throughput but is also flexible allowing integration into mobile devices with very limited resources, as well as large-scale carrier-grade deployments.
