Community Involvement

Commtouch contributes resources to organizations that make the world a better place. In honor of one of its founders Nahum Sharfman and his wife Nava, who died accident in 2009, Commtouch has made a multi-year commitment to sponsor BizTec, an entrepreneurship competition organized by the Haifa Technion for university and college students (undergraduate and graduate). Since Nahum was one of the pioneers of high-tech in Israel, and had been actively involved in the many companies he founded, Commtouch’s management decided that the best way to honor his and Nava’s memory would be to encourage young entrepreneurs.

In addition, Commtouch makes an annual donation in honor of its business partners, customers and employees to a non-profit organization that is making a difference in the world. Recipients of this annual donation include:

  • The Acumen Fund (2010 and 2011) – a non-profit global venture fund that uses entrepreneurial approaches to solve the problems of global poverty
  • Charity Navigator (2008, 2009 and 2010) – works to advance a more efficient and responsive philanthropic marketplace by evaluating the financial health of over 5,300 charities.
  • The V Foundation (2009) – raises millions of dollars of and awards cancer research grants throughout the United States
  • TrickleUp (2008) –aims to empower people living on less than $1 a day to take the first steps out of poverty, providing them with resources to build microenterprises for a better quality of life.
