Art@Work

New Artists Program

In February 2008, Commtouch opened its "Art@Work" program, in which new artists can display their works at Commtouch's Netanya headquarters in an exhibition that rotates periodically. Each exhibition is developed in conjunction with the artist, who then presents a gallery talk to Commtouch employees and guests.

Currently on exhibition is the work of Iris London-Zolty, a recreational photographer who has studied photography for several years at the Odyssey School in Israel and with the well-known photographer, Shai Ginot. An attorney by profession, London-Zolty works in the non-profit sector in a managerial capacity. She is married and the mother of three daughters.

Her "Sun Umbrellas" photographs were first exhibited at the Tel Aviv Port last summer. Viewed by thousands, they are a cheerful celebration of light, color, beauty and joy. The use of various display materials - including photographs printed on canvas beach chairs - emphasizes the versatility of the subject.

Why umbrellas?

"For the last two years, I've focused on photographing sun umbrellas - icons of Israeliness, sun, freedom. I found the subject to be fascinating and challenging. Umbrellas are so common that we hardly notice them, yet they are alive with surprises; I found in them an endless source of imagery, character and humanity." -Iris London-Zolty
